Q. I’m following up with you since I’ve been practicing with the Fscan/Firefly. My friend’s Fscan was 25%, I did 4 gut treatments total, checking Fscan prior to each treatment so I would know how effective was the treatment. I know you said to do just initial Fscan and then one after all those treatments. Even after 4 gut treatments, she still had few “green” lines but I decided to stop since I feel that it could be counterproductive to over treat the gut. I know how microbiome is important for our gut health. I guess my question is if there is max gut treatment and what is your experience.

I then proceeded to treat her shoulder as her main issue. She had a surgery 9 months ago and continues to have somehow limited range of motion and occasional pain. I did 10 mins first on her shoulder/scapula, which went fine but after her second session she had pretty severe pain (more than usual). I decreased the time to 5 mins at her next session. She was coming for her treatments every other day. I did two more treatments of 5 mins and after the last one she had some mild pain. What should I expect regarding pain and when do you usually see reduction in pain and improvement in healing process? It can be discouraging to clients if they feel worse after the 4th treatment than before they started the treatment. I understand the potential mild Herx reaction can happen after the gut treatment (even with good hydration, charcoal and laxatives) but pain is somehow different.

Do you do Fscan automatically for each client to rule out any gut issues prior to starting treatment anywhere else? That seems to be the suggested protocol.

I also wanted to ask you about neurocog treatments and how much success you have with those. My very good friend’s grandson (7 y/o) has autism and I remember that you mentioned having experience with that.

And lastly, the Fscan turn on/off button doesn’t seem to be working when I want to turn it off. Is it me or does it turn off on its own eventually?

A. We typically scan once and use that scan for 2-3 sessions, rescan and see what’s left or did we find more. You definitely don’t have to do more, but it won’t hurt. Getting rid of those will only help them. Also, with a 25% auto threshold, I would have dropped it to 20% if there weren’t more than 40 hits at 20%.

The frequencies are only going after the bad stuff, which getting rid of as much stuff as you can will only help them.

Yes they are only going after the bad guys so no need to worry about killing the good bacteria

As far as the shoulder goes, I would stick to 5 min sessions. The shoulder is “Medium” area and we should only be doing about 5mins on there. Eventually you may add time as you go, but slowly.  Every body is different. If by 5 sessions in they haven’t seen any improvement, I would suggest adding in Nitric Oxide. Some people may flare up a bit after a session, we call it the “healing pain”. They should feel better than when they started after about 12-24hrs. If it persists, I would switch to having 2 days in between session.

I’m guessing there is a bunch of scar tissue and that can take time to ablate.  Stick to 5 min sessions there.

I do suggest that if someone isn’t in excruciating pain, start on the gut for at least 2 sessions. Getting that microbiome back in balance is huge for helping the body to heal.

I agree

Children just SOAK up the light! We have a Pro unit user that was using the system on her children with autsim and she is seeing GREAT results and I get update texts from time to time of how much they are improving and she has only been sporadically using it on them and still seeing great results! Neurcog protocol- 10 10-minute sessions, preferrably done over 2 weeks, but can be done over a month. Then take some time off (2 weeks to a month) and then repeat.  But since this child is 7, I would do 5-minutes on them.

Yes, 5 mins sessions, 10 sessions over 2 weeks is preferrable

As far as the turn off goes, I am sorry you are experiencing this! I would try the tiny reset button on the back. I have had a few people have to go this route. It shouldn’t affect the scans if it stays on.

The switch that you use to turn the Fscan on is not how you turn it off.  You press the red X in the upper right corner, then the red O with a slash in it in the middle bottom and it will shut down

I enjoyed the zoom meeting and have some follow up questions. I think, once I start using the Firefly more and more, there are going to be more questions. My first question is regarding clients with high BP.  I was under the impression that the light therapy increases nitric oxide in our bodies, which would hopefully lower the BP, so hopefully there should be no problem, even if somebody has higher BP. Am I missing something in this case? What is the rationale of being careful or not using the light on patients with high BP?

My other question is regarding a friend who I’ll be “treating” for joint issues. She also would like to try cranium treatment for memory issues/fogginess. She had a benign tumor removed 12 years ago, small part was left there d/t inaccessibility. She just had a MRI f/u and it’s unchanged. I assume there should be no contraindication since it’s benign tumor. Can you just confirm that for me.

The rationale for not treating someone with high BP is that if they experienced any kind of TIA, stroke, or even MI while being treated (or shortly thereafter) the blame would come down on the Firefly.  I think your theory about it actually lowering blood pressure is correct however I have treated friends in the past and take BP before/after and there was an increase.

Yes, if the MRI confirms that there has been no change and it’s a benign growth you are clear to administer cranial sessions.
